Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province held a ceremony on Aug 30, marking the official appointment of 22 business environment inspectors.

The inspectors were recruited publically from commerce chambers, social media, enterprises, and universities, and will supervise administrative reviews and regulations, government affairs, special sector service standards, and administrative law enforcement. They will also overlook progress made in investment programs, popularize policies, and submit public feedback related to optimizing the business environment to the government.

"It is really an honor to participate in the new area's business environment development. I will dedicate myself to improving the business environment here," said Zhang Jie, a newly recruited inspector.

The inspector team is meant to further complete the supervision mechanism, increase government service capabilities in public services, and forge a stable, fair, transparent, and desirable business environment.

The environment is vital in activating market entities. Guian has been working harder to get rid of unreasonable restrictions and entry standards, promote investment and trade, raise government affairs efficiency, lift tax burdens for enterprises, strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights, and create a market-oriented, law-based, and international business environment.

It is estimated that during the first half of 2021, Guian New Area introduced 103 projects worth 96.26 billion yuan ($14.44 billion) and completed 96.3 percent of its annual goal.
