Gourmet festival at Qingyun Market a roaring success

The first Guiyang "Luoguo + Coffee"-themed gourmet festival was held at Qingyun Market from Dec 8 to 10, drawing considerable attention to this much-loved local snack.

Four main activities were held during the festival, including luoguo- and coffee-making competitions, and ethnic cultural and creative activities, aiming to enhance the influence of both the coffee and luoguo industries.

Luoguo is a local snack in which ingredients such as seafood, chicken, duck, cattle, sheep, and vegetables are fried in pans. People take the cooked food from the pan and dip it into special chili powder or sauce.

The event was co-hosted by the Guiyang bureau of commerce and the district's bureau of commerce.

On the afternoon of Dec 8, the final round of the 2023 Professional Coffee Athletics (PCA) contest in Guiyang kicked off with a latte art competition. Infused with the exquisite latte art skills and unique artistic ideas, ordinary cups of coffee were transformed into delicate works of art, allowing the audience to experience the charm of coffee latte art up close.

The PCA, as an open and fair competition platform open to people of all nationalities, was first held in 2015. It has since been organized in more than 100 locations in China, Malaysia, Vietnam, and other countries.

The competition focuses on professional coffee brewing, coffee tasting, and latte art. It has attracted participants representing 47 coffee brands in 36 cities across China.

Over 100 coffee representatives joined the cultural exchange activities in Guiyang's coffee industry.

More than 10 professional judges from the industry were invited to provide technical assessments and share their expertise on-site on latte art.
