Guiyang and Gui'an: A thriving digital hub

Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Guizhou province have emerged as leading forces in the digital economy. By focusing on software and information technology services and electronic information manufacturing, they have built a robust industrial ecosystem. In 2024, the digital economy accounted for 53.3 percent of the region's GDP.

The Guiyang Big Data Sci-Tech Innovation Hub has attracted and registered 1,572 enterprises, including 831 big data companies, forming initial clusters in computing power, AI, and data annotation industries.

Guiyang and Gui'an are also using the Global Big Data Exchange to enhance data transaction flows. China Data Pay Co has implemented over 300 application scenarios across the internet, finance, insurance, and transportation sectors.

Guiyang and Gui'an are advancing the electronic information manufacturing industry, focusing on five key areas: chips, components, boards, machines, and devices. The region has attracted major companies like Inspur. In 2024, enterprises in the electronic information manufacturing sector above the designated size achieved a remarkable 168 percent year-on-year increase in output value.
