Guiyang's consumer market surged during the Spring Festival holiday, with consumption reaching 4.69 billion yuan ($641.79 million), a 6.4 percent year-on-year increase.
Nighttime consumption in Guiyang during the festival amounted to 11.63 billion yuan, up 5.5 percent.
Shopping malls promoted consumption upgrades across the city by launching a range of activities, encouraging citizens to explore traditional customs and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Shanshan Outlets organized ethnic bamboo pole dances, lion dance parades, and a "1,000 Red Envelopes for New Year" event, offering a rich consumer experience. "From Jan 28 to Feb 2, sales reached 10 million yuan, a 3 percent increase year-on-year, with 80,000 visitors, a 5 percent increase," said Yang Hu, a staff member from Shanshan Outlets' Planning Department.
From Jan 1 to Feb 4, Guiyang reported 267 million yuan in trade-in subsidies, driving sales of automobiles, home appliances, and home furnishings to 2.42 billion yuan. Over 13,900 car replacement applications were submitted, totaling 240 million yuan, which spurred 2.28 billion yuan in sales. From Jan 28 to Feb 4, 681 car replacement applications were submitted, totaling 11.24 million yuan, driving 120 million yuan in sales.
From Jan 22 to Feb 3, Guiyang issued 40.68 million yuan in consumer vouchers, stimulating 253 million yuan in consumption. These vouchers covered various sectors, including retail, dining, and cultural tourism.
