Thriving private economy in Guiyang and Gui'an

Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area achieved a significant milestone by the end of 2024, with the number of market entities in the region reaching 1.07 million, accounting for 23.12 percent of the province's total.

Among these, private enterprises numbered 377,500, representing 32.51 percent of all private enterprises in the province.

This robust performance can largely be attributed to the concerted efforts of local authorities to promote the high-quality development of the private economy. Key initiatives include optimizing the business environment and invigorating market entities.

Authorities facilitated the signing of 22 projects with a total contract value of 2.41 billion yuan ($335 million). They also formalized 612 village-enterprise pairing agreements and implemented 55 industrial revitalization projects with a cumulative investment of 650 million yuan.

Authorities also implemented 138 public welfare assistance projects and helped sell agricultural products worth over 2 billion yuan.

Efforts to strengthen initiatives such as enterprise visits to colleges and college-enterprise programs have mobilized private enterprises to participate in recruitment activities. A total of 21 events were conducted, involving 1,211 enterprises that offered 28,000 job positions, resulting in 3,660 employment intentions.

Authorities conducted in-depth research, identifying over 20 issues and proposing more than 30 recommendations. This led to the resolution of over 10 issues and the establishment of more than 10 industry-education cooperation initiatives.

The ongoing efforts to streamline administration, enhance regulation, and upgrade services have created a favorable environment for the high-quality development of private enterprises in Guiyang and Gui'an.
