Guiyang and Laos strengthen cooperation

The Gui'an Free Trade Zone and the Laos Boten Special Economic Zone recently convened a meeting aimed at enhancing trade and economic collaboration.

The discussions centered on utilizing the complementary strengths and resources of both areas and focusing on industry, location, and investment policies. Representatives from the Gui'an Free Trade Zone provided a comprehensive overview of their current industrial development and outlined their cooperation needs with Laos.

The Boten Special Economic Zone detailed its industrial progress and explained various preferential policies and considerations for Chinese enterprises looking to invest in Laos.

The meeting also included in-depth discussions on several potential collaborative projects, such as the construction of the Gui'an-Boten Highway, the establishment of international freight train services connecting to the China-Laos Railway, and the development of a processing trade industrial park targeting Southeast Asia.

A communication mechanism was also established, and an agreement on the frequency of mutual visits and exchange activities was reached.
