Gui'an Free Trade Zone has experienced robust growth in foreign trade during the first quarter of this year, recording a total trade value of 4.21 billion yuan ($583 million), up 22.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

Guizhou Jinqian Yuchun Tea Co in the zone is using automated tea processing technology to produce high-quality refined tea. These products are being exported to markets in Morocco, Western Sahara, Algeria, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, and other countries across Africa and Central Asia.

The company has developed a comprehensive industrial chain that includes tea cultivation, harvesting, primary processing, refining, deep processing, and export. This year, they anticipate producing over 8,000 metric tons, generating revenues of 150 million yuan.

To improve customs clearance efficiency, the zone's administrative committee has worked with customs authorities to implement "Direct Transfer within the Zone".

This innovative approach enables the classification and regulation of bonded warehouse goods based on their status, allowing for transitions between bonded and non-bonded statuses without requiring physical movement through checkpoints.

Tang Song, director of the zone's commerce bureau, said, "We are promoting industries such as cross-border e-commerce and bonded repair and remanufacturing. We are also expanding our open channels by establishing a '2-way 3-line + N-line' road logistics network and launching a cross-border logistics route from Pingxiang, Guangxi to Vietnam, significantly enhancing transportation efficiency and openness."
