The China (Guiyang)-Africa Used Car Supply and Demand Matchmaking Conference took place on June 13 at the fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo in Changsha, Hunan province.
The event brought together more than 40 representatives from African countries, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone, as well as over 50 domestic automotive companies and trade associations, to explore collaborative opportunities.
An analysis of trends in China-Africa cooperation in the used car industry was presented. The Guiyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone highlighted its used car export industry, while companies like Guizhou Zhonghui Heavy Industry and Guizhou Tyre showcased their products. African buyers also expressed their purchasing needs for used cars, machinery, and auto parts.
"The African used car market has a relatively low inventory but a high demand for products. This expo offers a platform for Guiyang used car companies to connect with the African industry, aiding businesses in expanding into overseas markets," said Jiang Jun, head of the China (Guiyang) Used Car Export Base.
He announced plans to establish an operations center in Africa, with a target of exporting 2,000 commercial used vehicles annually, promoting deeper integration between Guiyang's automotive industry and the African market.
The conference also included a signing ceremony for used car export agreements. Guizhou Tyre, Guizhou Zhonghui Heavy Industry, and others reached cooperation agreements with African buyers, signing contracts totaling 81.6 million yuan ($11.35 million).
