According to Yu Zhiwei, deputy general manager of Ctrip Group's Destination Cooperation Department, inclusion on this prestigious list is determined by a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation system. It relies on real user travel data from Ctrip, focusing on four key indicators: destination popularity, order volume, visitor numbers, and search traffic, with the top 100 destinations selected based on their overall popularity score.
Guiyang's inclusion stems from its unique strengths and growing appeal. The city benefits from a pleasant climate, with an average summer temperature of 22.3 C, and has consistently ranked among the top summer retreat destinations for six years, owing to its lush, forested urban environment.
The rising influence of the "Cool Guiyang" city brand, supported by year-round themed activities and innovative tourism experiences, has further attracted both domestic and international visitors.
Additionally, Guiyang's diverse consumption offerings, including over 3,000 coffee shops and popular cultural districts like Qingyun Market, have set new benchmarks for tourism.
The city's vibrant cultural atmosphere, highlighted by widely discussed roadside concerts, has also earned it a reputation as a "City of Music" across China.
